

Karl Erich Driesen, 90, of Miami, FL, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Karl was born in Bromberg, Poland. He immigrated with his parents to the United States in 1951, settling in St. Louis, MO.
He studied at Washington University in St. Louis, MO, attaining a Bachelor’s degree in economics. While at Washington University, he joined the ROTC and later served in the Air Force Reserves. He began his career in the airline industry as an economist, which he relished doing for 27 years.
In 1958, he met and married his beloved wife, Madeleine, with whom he shared 67 beautiful, loving years. During their marriage, they welcomed two daughters, Regina and Victoria. In 1968, Karl and his family relocated to Miami, FL, where they lived happily throughout his life. Over the years, Karl embraced a deep love, respect and appreciation for his sons-in-law, Ed and Vik. Karl always felt they were his dear sons. Ed’s sister Alice and her husband Jerry were endlessly devoted to Karl, and he loved them deeply.
He was blessed with four grandchildren: Sarah, Rachael, Alex and Sam. He lovingly welcomed into his family Sarah’s husband, Andrew, and Rachael’s husband, Michael. Later, Karl celebrated the births of his five great grandchildren: Elizabeth, Ellington, Benito, Briar and Ariela. Karl was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his sixth great grandchild. He also cherished being in close contact with his beloved niece, Rita, her husband Rudi and his dear grand niece Lea. He had recently celebrated the marriage of his treasured grand niece, Rebecca, to her husband Denis.
Karl will best be remembered for his unwavering selflessness, kindness, compassion and sense of humor. He was happiest when surrounded by his loving family and friends. His abiding faith in Judaism inspired him to serve on multiple Temple Boards, Men’s Clubs and Brotherhood. His most joyful hobbies were gardening, listening to music and participating in a local stamp collecting club. He felt immense joy in watching his family grow, while they exemplify the values he cherished.

A funeral service will be held at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapels at Mount Nebo (Kendall), located at 5900 SW 77th Ave, Miami, FL 33143, on July 13, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
