It is with great sadness that Lenore Raven unexpectedly passed away on May 20, 2024. She is predeceased by the love of her life, Al, her “Totala,” whose marital relationship of 46 years was marked by a steadfast love and devotion that lasted until his demise June 1st, 2008. She is also preceded in death by her loving parents Pauline & Louis Ellenbogen & her dear brother Alvin, whose dedication to each other never faltered. Her children were the central pillar of her life: she was blessed with a caring, extraordinary daughter Sherri, loving son Michael, outstanding daughter-in-law Natalie, and incredibly devoted son Craig. Her source of great happiness and pride were her adored grandchildren Sara (Kelly), Rachel (Mark), and Chad. She cherished the blessing of her three precious great grandchildren Laura, Xander, and Ellie. She also leaves her dear sister-in-law Sheila, as well as loving relationships with her many extraordinary nieces, nephews, their beautiful children and cousins of many generations near and far. As the family matriarch, her life was extremely enriched being surrounded by love and sharing a close bond with multiple endearing family members -- L’Dor Vador. She was most fortunate by having a
plethora of friends with whom she maintained relationships throughout her lifetime, a few dating back to elementary school in Brooklyn.
Her incredible love for music began on her 4th birthday, when her
parents gifted her with a piano, which has always been her treasured and cherished possession. She had a passion for Jewish and Israeli melodies, light opera, and Broadway showtunes. A highlight of her
musical talents led to two show stopping sold out performances at Carnegie Hall. Her career path led her to become owner of a travel agency for more than four decades. She served as president of the
YWHA, on the board of Temple Zion Synagogue, was a lifetime member of Naomi Hadassah, and a long standing grateful member of Families Anonymous, as well as Nar-Anon. As a testament to the
profound relationships within her twelve step fellowships, she embraced gratitude, spirituality, and hope in her daily life and had unequivocal, unrelenting love for her cherished extended family of
her choice.
She and her family extend tremendous thanks, with fondest
appreciation, to Mary and Candy, who gave their exemplary care, providing continuous love and compassion over the past several years. They are both worthy of every blessing there is. Lenore and
family extend special recognition with heartfelt love and gratitude to two incredible physicians/friends, Dr. Raj and Dr. Serpa, who were primarily responsible for her extended survival. Despite a myriad of
health issues, she never lost her grace and positivity. In lieu of flowers, remembrances or expressions of sympathy in honor of Lenore can be made to the Key Clubhouse of South Florida (8301
NW 27th Ave, Ste 102, Miami, FL, 33147), or any other charity of your
choosing.
Funeral services to honor her memory will be held on Thursday, 5/23/24, at 11 am, at Riverside Gordon Mt. Nebo Kendall Memorial Chapel (5900 SW 77th Ave, Miami, FL, 33143). Following memorial
services, relatives and friends are invited to the Raven residence for Shiva, which will be observed for the week .
