I met my Brini Bre, Sabrina, when I first became her hairstylist. The first time Bre  introduced me to her mom, I remember the firmness in her voice. I knew right then…this was a woman who did not play.  I also had pleasurable moments touching Lorraine’s hair as well. In the chair,  she always let me do what I do and that was to care for the hair and scalp.   She was so sweet to me in the chair though lol.  But… when I met Granny, I thought, oh okay… I see now. It was in the blood.

Over the years, Bre and I became more than friends…we became sisters. What started as appointments turned into family. I became “Auntie,” Goodie,” and somewhere along the way, we stopped being visitors in each other’s lives and just became a part of one another’s family.

She(Bre) became to me what I became to her—an everlasting bond.

The memories I hold close are the simple ones: visiting the family, the sweetness, the warmth, the genuine welcome. It was always pure. Lorraine  never gave me a sour face or an uneasy feeling. She always embraced me. She always said.. I like this one lol..that meant it was trusting to her for me to be in her daughter life. The rest is history. We are family for life and we understand one another. Stephy my baby sis, Deedee, Skaii  my god babies, auntie to KJ and Kastro.. Kastin. I love you all very much. 

She will truly be missed.

I  have known Lorraine since high school at Miami Jackson where we became lifelong friends.  I share in your grief for someone who has a special place in my heart for the friendship we shared for so many years.  May you find peace and comfort in precious memories.

You never missed a moment. You were always there. Being the best grandma ever. Always there with hugs, kisses, laughs and love. Thank you for loving my kids the way you loved me. I feel like they got cheated out of more time with you. I feel like we all did. This doesn’t feel real most days. Rest easy mommy. We got it from here Bud!!!!

You are one of the best grandmothers my children could’ve ever had. Rah, to this day still asks about his grandma and loves wearing your hat. Even though he only had you for a few short years, you left a huge impression on his memory. We all miss you painfully and I don’t think we will ever stop

Her creativity and artistic abilities were amazing ; i.e. the creation of  beautiful greeting cards, etc. I am happy that I had a chance to meet her. May you find strength in her memory.

I can hear you now telling me, “Girl, stop all that cussing,” or saying you gone wash my mouth out with soap. “ That was our relationship — full of jokes, honesty, and so much love. Sabrina, always had to warn me, “Sis you’re on speaker and Ma is in the car. I’m so grateful we had the kind of bond where we could say anything to each other, always respectfully, always with laughter.

I’m going to miss our playful talks and even getting on your nerves. The moment I saw you in the hospital I felt numb because, I’m — telling you in my joking, demanding way, “When I come back, you better be out this bed and at home.” And  the moment you didn’t respond sadden me the most. You never once took anything I said the wrong way. You were always sweet, loving, and kind.

There was never going to be a day I wouldn’t come see you in the hospital. I just had to. That’s how much you meant to me.

Thank you for loving Sabrina’s friends like your own children. Your warmth, your spirit, and your beautiful heart will truly be missed. You will forever hold a special place in my heart.

“Ma,” as I have affectionately called you from the very first day we met,

From that day on, you became another mother to me. The name “Ma” was never just a nickname — it was who you were in my heart. Whenever I needed you, you were always there. I will never forget the day you found me sitting on the garage step waiting for Sabrina. In that moment, I knew you loved me — and I have loved you ever since. 

You became not only a mother to me, but “Goddie” to my son, loving both of them as only you could. 

We so often take time for granted, and somehow I always thought you would be here. But I understand that you were tired of suffering. 

Now you are with Granny, free from pain, resting peacefully watching over KJ, Kastin, Danielle, Skai, Marlon Jr “MJ” Rah.

Ma, you did well. You loved deeply, you gave endlessly, and you carried so much with such strength. You gave Sabrina & Stephanie the tools and they will continue to make you proud. Well done, Ma. Well done. You can rest now.

My dear friend Lorraine words can't express how your death broke me but I knew each time I visited you, you told me you were ready to go home trying to prepare me that you were ready to make that transition. I didn't want you to leave us. Take your rest my friend,  I'm gonna miss you dearly but I know there's no more pain  you have to endure and that you're with your mom (Ms. Lillian) rejoicing with the Lord.

When you left you took my sunshine with you Bud & I don’t think I’ll be able to weather this storm!💔

I am heartbroken by the loss of my dear friend. In this difficult time, let us hold onto the beautiful promise from Hebrews 13:5: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

My deepest sympathies to Sabrina, Stephanie and family. Your Mom brought joy and laughter to many, and she had a very pragmatic outlook that instilled calm in difficult times. I am thankful for her friendship, cherish memories of our time together in USPS Personnel, and will always be grateful that our paths crossed. May she Rest in Peace.

Lorraine I will miss you so much. When I first meet you when you called me for my interview in HR. We became sister riding together to back and forth to work.  You taught me how to scrap book and we spent many day at the table eating Popeyes chicken and doing scrap book. You were always there to give me advise. No more suffering my dear friend.
