Paul Jacobson

You fought so hard but this was never going to be a fair fight. This cancer was a hideous monster that took everything from you, from us and you were only 57. Mum and I got to witness your courage and strength that knew no bounds when facing this deadly disease.

You were so brave when you agreed to the chemotherapy that unfortunately made you toxic and left you hospitalized for 7 months. We cried over Christmas time when you spent 2 weeks fighting for your life on a ventilator in multi-system organ failure with doctors telling us you weren’t going to make it but you did. We watched you beat the odds over and over but they were never in your favor. We watched you lose 140lbs because your love of food was stripped away with sickness and pain. We sat and waited while the surgeon battled for over 5 hours to try and fail to remove the tumors and we saw you battle and ultimately witnessed this beast destroy you over the last 10 months.

We take solace that you are in peace now, and the cancer died when you did. No one should have to suffer like you did it was just cruel. I’m honored that mum and I were able to hold your hand until the end and you were not alone.

You kept your amazing sense of humor until the end, the cancer couldn’t take that away at least.

Thank you for teaching us to be kind and genuine and thank you for everything you did for mum and I. We never wanted for anything and you were the most generous dad and husband we could wish for. We only wish you could be there to witness more of our journey and we will try to make you proud and will honor your memory every day.

We are going to miss you more than we could ever imagine and we cherish you for being our best friend, safety net, cheer leader and protector.

We will love you forever...

Paul was a dual citizen of the U.K. and the U.S., and passed away Monday, July 30, 2018. He is predeceased by his father, Arnold Jacobson and his brother, John Jacobson. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Jacobson; daughter, Eve Jacobson; mother, Rita Jacobson; and two sisters, Jane Klugerman and Julie Baker.
