Born on May 12, 1943, in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, Rene lived a life marked by dedication, resilience, and a profound capacity to love. He proudly carried his roots and built a legacy grounded in hard work, responsibility, and devotion to his loved ones.
For over 50 years, Rene worked as a purchasing manager and accountant at Antillean Marine, known for his tireless commitment and his dedication to keeping everything running smoothly. His work ethic was a fundamental part of who he was—steady, reliable, and deeply invested.
Rene was also a man of many passions. He loved watching fútbol, especially cheering for his beloved Barcelona. Music brought him joy, from the romantic boleros of Carlos Cuevas and Bolero Soul to the timeless classics of Frank Sinatra. He relished sweets and pastries, stayed active through workouts, appreciated poetry, and loved to get lost in movies. His interests reflected a tender heart and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Rene’s life was beautifully shaped by the families he built, and he carried love for each chapter with equal devotion.
With Marina, he shared the early foundation of fatherhood, welcoming his daughters Tatiana and Claudia. Their bond was filled with affection, pride, and cherished memories. Rene deeply loved Tatiana and Claudia, and their mother, Marina, was an important part of that family story.
Later, with Elena Galvez, Rene found a lifelong partnership, and together they raised three children—Rene, Orlando, and Angie. Their family life was filled with love, support, and joy. Rene adored each of his children, and his pride in them was immeasurable.
To Rene, family was never divided; it was expanded. He loved all five of his children deeply and uniquely. He also shared a special bond with his son-in-law AJ and daughter-in-law Stephania, whom he embraced wholeheartedly as if they were his own children. Their love, care, and presence in his life meant the world to him, and he held them close to his heart.
His six grandchildren brought immense joy and light to his later years. He is also survived by several siblings who were part of the foundation of his early life.
The funeral and memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. at Lakeside Memorial, where family and friends will gather to honor a man whose life touched many hearts.
