Rita Shats

Rita was born on July 2, 1939, in Kiev, Ukraine, the daughter of the late Yankel and Mira Faynshtein.

She married Mark Shats in February 1959 in Kiev. Together they welcomed three daughters and later built a new life in Miami Beach after immigrating in 1979. Mark predeceased her in 1998.

Rita will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family and community. Her unconditional love shaped the lives of those around her and was evident in everything she did.

Cherishing her memory are her sister, Vera Levin; her three daughters, Emilia Palacios (Arturo), Laura Levitt (Gregory), and Eleonora Shtibelband (Mark); six grandchildren, Mitchell Palacios (Rachel), Jennifer Sirotovsky (Maxim), Louis Levitt, Daniella Capuano (Antonio), Holden Palacios, and Bryan Levitt; and six great-grandchildren, Monika Capuano, Aria Palacios, Michael Sirotovsky, Nico Capuano, Ezra Palacios, and Paulina Sirotovsky. She is also survived by two nieces, Anna Segal (Daniel) and Gabriella Levin Ganz (Phillip); two great-nephews, Samuel and Mayson; and one grand-niece, Madison.

Funeral services will be held on December 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, with Uri Romano officiating.
