

Saul Stanley Jonas MD, peacefully passed away on March 30 at the age of 94. Stanley grew up on South Beach with his best friend Marty Goodman. He attended Miami Beach High School. On the day of his graduation, he enlisted in the Navy to serve in WW2. After an honorable discharge, he attended Emory University where met his wife, Dollie. He did his postgraduate work at The New England Medical Center and Mt. Sinai Hospital on Miami Beach. He joined Robert Trope MD in private medical practice.
After a successful career spanning 38 years during which he was on staff at Mount Sinai Hospital and Saint Francis hospital, where he served as president of the medical staff. He then served as Medical Director of Catholic Hospice for seven years.
After retirement, Stanley pursued his lifelong passions of golf, art collecting, travel, following the local sports teams, enjoying time with his family and innumerable friends. He was a docent at Vizcaya, volunteered at the Miami Beach Botanical Gardens, the New World Symphony and at the Arsht Center. His favorite passion was being with the love of his life Dollie, his bride of 72 years.
Stanley is survived by Dollie, his daughter Betsy, his son Ivan (Terry), his daughter in law Margie his grandchildren Mollie, Andrea (Vivek), Libby, Zachary (Luko), and Jacob, his great-grand children Kota and Aki, many cousins nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his son Andy.
Funeral services will be on 2 PM Friday, April 1 graveside at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapel at Mount Nebo Kendall 5900 SW. 77th Ave., Miami, FL. Donations can be made to the Make-A-Wish foundation of South Florida or The American Cancer Society.
