Amelia Emelia Smith

Amelia Emelia Smith, 92, passed away January 20, 2018. She was born January 1, 1926 in Leonidas Township, Michigan and resided in Macclenny, Florida. She loved her family and friends. She made flower arrangements for many years and she really enjoyed working and being with people. She just enjoyed life and was always there when you needed her. A special memory Rita Johnson had with her beloved aunt, in 1991 when Rita had knee surgery, Amelia made sure Rita had a ride to and from the doctor. Amelia also took Rita’s daughter Wendy on weekends. Amelia had a big and giving heart. Mrs. Smith is survived by her daughter; Mary Gosnell (Grady), grandchildren; Vince Coleman (Karen) and Stan Cline, step grandchildren; Terri Thornburg, Tammy McCarl, Beverly Ann Cline, Judy Kay Cain, Grady Gosnell Jr., and Kevin Reas, nieces; Rita Johnson, Norma Johnson, Deborah Ann Cline and Melissa Goss, nephew; John Pease and several great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; James and Lena Shaw, husband; Ray W. Smith, siblings; Stanley Shaw, Carl Shaw, Herman Shaw, Frances Smith and Ruth Shaw, daughter; Beverly Gross, grandson; Howard Gross, and step granddaughter; Teresa Bryan. Another special memory from grandson Stanley Cline was she so very thankful for the years Amelia took care of me as a child. A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday January 24, 2018 with 1 hour prior visitation at HARDAGE-GIDDENS HOLLY HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3601 Old Jennings Road Middleburg, Florida 32068.
