Carrie B. “Bebe” Mathis, age 95, passed away on November 27, 2020. Carrie was born on May 24, 1925 in Cave Spring, Georgia to Herman Clarence Langston and Minnie Lee Parris Langston. She worked for Singer Sewing Co. as a sales representative. Carrie moved to Jacksonville in 1954 and moved to the Middleburg area in 1987. Carrie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be deeply and sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Carrie is survived by her daughters Sandra Jean (Edward) Patterson and Susan Kay Smith; grandchildren Woody (Emily) Mathis, Tonya (Andy) Payne, Ruth Mathis, and Kari (Brett) Johnson; great-grandchildren Payton Curry, Mackenzie Curry, Aubrey Johnson, Ethan Johnson, and Levi Johnson; and one daughter-in-law, Judy Mathis. She is preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow (Woody) Wilson Mathis; one son, Randy Charles Mathis; one son-in-law, David Smith; brother, Hubert Langston; sisters Emma Kate Barrett and Margaret Brown; and one grandson, Wiley Smith.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at 2pm at Holly Hill Memorial Park and Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior at 1pm at the funeral home.
