Cora “Alice” Vass Harper Dameron, 97, of Clay Hill, passed away on February 3, 2011, after a brief illness. Alice was a beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and friend to all. She will be greatly missed.
She was born in Cirtsville, West Virginia, October 9, 1913. Alice graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1932 and attended Appalachian Bible College, Bradley WV. She was married to Roy A. Harper in 1932. They had 6 children. She was later married to Paul Dameron in 1984. She was a very active member of Highland First Baptist Church of Highland, FL.
She is survived by 2 sons and 1 daughter. Roy Gene Harper, Cleveland, OH; Zona Thomason, Clay Hill, FL; Clyde Harper, Carrollton, VA; 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 21 great great grandchildren, and 1 great great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. Monday, February 7, 2011 at Highland First Baptist Church of Highland, FL. Officiating pastor will be Bro Gary Melvin. Family will receive guests Sunday, February 6, 2011 from 4 to 6 P.M. at Highland First Baptist Church of Highland, FL. She will be layed to rest at Highland Memorial Gardens in Apopka, FL, following the funeral service.
