

With heartfelt sorrow and deep love, we announce the passing of Donald William Erdman, who entered eternal rest on July 27, 2025, at the age of 88. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud veteran, and a friend to many. Born on January 9, 1937, in Hackensack, New Jersey, Don was the beloved son of the late Arthur and Mildred Erdman. He honorably served in the United States Army, a reflection of his lifelong dedication to service, strength, and integrity. Don was the loving husband of Thordis A. Erdman, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories. He was a proud and supportive father to his children, Donald W. Erdman II and Bryce Erdman, who continue to honor his legacy with love and pride. Don lived life with joy and enthusiasm. He was an avid golfer, a talented pool shark, and a skilled poker player who always appreciated good competition and great company. He also loved board games, and his playful spirit brought warmth to every gathering. As a proud member of the Orange Park Elks Lodge #2605, Don found community and camaraderie among friends who became like family. He will be remembered for his kindness, his quick wit, his steady presence, and the love he gave so freely. Don’s life was a blessing to all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Funeral Home, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, Florida 32068. Burial will follow immediately at Holly Hill Memorial Park, at the same location.
