She is preceded in death by her daughter, Foncie S. Carver. Survivors include her sons Carroll "Coby" (Donna) Shubert Jr., William "Bill" (Brenda) Shubert and daughter Evelyn "Sue" (Calvin) Cail, grandsons Mark Howard, Jesse (Amy) Cail, Jody (Lori) Cail, and granddaughters Kelly (Shawn) Driggers, Christy (John) Smith, Kari (Jon) Wilson, Amy Corpé, Melissa Shubert, April Shubert, Amanda Shubert and nine great grandchildren. Also survived by nieces Elizabeth Griffey (Jim Russell), Patricia Potts, Deborah Boote, and nephews Arthur "Buz" (Jonette) Boote III, Michael Boote, and many other nieces and nephews.
Evelyn lived in the Jacksonville, Florida area most of her life and was a retired church secretary from Christ United Methodist Church in Neptune Beach. She was an inspiration to everyone and always walked in grace and mercy with joy. Evelyn was a gardener par excellence, but she also grew a family that adored her.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Hardage-Giddens Holly Hill Memorial Park, 3601 Old Jennings Rd., Middleburg, Florida, on December 8, 2021, 11am, with Pastor Dan Casselberry officiating.
