Gene Lanier Newton Sr., age 86, of Middleburg, Florida passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Gene was born in Colquitt County, GA and served his country proudly in the US Army. Gene is survived by his wife, Martha Newton; 3 children: Gene (Deborah) Newton, Jr., Jack Newton and Martha (Joseph) Killimade; 6 grandchildren: Wayne, Danielle, David, James, Zack and Christopher; 12 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

The family will have a gathering of friends 1 PM on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at HARDAGE-GIDDENS HOLLY HILL FUNERAL HOME, 3601 Old Jennings Road, Middleburg, FL. Military honors will be performed at 1:15 PM at the chapel.
