John Harold Morgan, 79, passed away December 03, 2017. He was born October 09, 1938 in Jacksonville, FL. He is survived by his son, Kevin Morgan; sister, Barbara Gerding, niece, Charlotte Ann McGuffin, nephew, Carl William Gerding, great nieces Jamie Veale and Shelby Gerding, great nephews Brian Mcguffin, Jesse Gerding, Tyler Gerding and Justin Gerding. John attended Stetson University before entering the Navy Flight School. He earned his wings and was commissioned Lieutenant JG. One day while flying his F8 he was forced to eject. He landed safely in a pine tree on the Virginia coast. After serving in the Navy for five years he flew for Braniff, National and Pan American Airlines. He retired as a captain from Pan Am. After retirement he flew his own private planes. Flying was always a major part of his life. A graveside service will be 1PM Tuesday December 12, 2017 at Middleburg United Methodist Church 3925 Main St, Middleburg, FL 32068.
