Roger Dale Terry died during the early hours on May 27, 2025. He was born in Ben Hur, Virginia on April 27, 1951 to Hubert and Geraldine [Stewart] Terry. In his early years, Roger’s family moved to Indiana where he grew up and learned the love of fishing. Later, he moved to Naples, Florida where he spent numerous years as a restaurant chef and dock master and the continuation of his fishing fondness. In the late 1990s, he and Ann Conway co-existed with a lasting friendship. Later in their life, in 2015, Roger and Ann moved to Gainesville, Florida. Soon thereafter, Roger suffered a major stroke. His health continued to decline with numbness from the waist down, near blindness and cognitive issues. And then sadly, his longtime companion, Ann, died on March 19th, a couple months prior to Roger’s death. Encountering the extreme physical and mental issues by himself, Roger gave up his battle against all those odds. In addition to his Mother and Father, Roger lost his daughter, Miranda, in 2010. Roger is survived by brothers, Will Terry and Carl Terry, and a sister, Peg Sifers. He is also survived by his Grandson, Austin James, and great granddaughter, Imojean James.
Roger and Ann both chose cremation. There will be no memorial service. At a later date and due to their love and memories of south Florida, their ashes will be spread in the waters off the Naples coast.
