Roy “Scotty” Gerhardt – passed away peacefully at age 73 on May 18, 2016. He said his goodbyes, making sure we promised to look after his beloved Priscilla, wife of 51 years. He leaves his son Douglas (Shannon) with tears and smiles. He was Papa to his two grandchildren, Kyle and Katie to whom he provided lots of love, humor, and lifelong lessons. He was a proud brother to Joy Holly (Tony) Vetere and known as Uncle Roy to Mark, Kara, and Jill. We wish also to recognize the care and support provided by the medical staff at St. Vincent’s Hospital, The Veterans Administration, as well as Doctor’s Yasay, Svwed, and Tanzler. The Memorial Service will be held 1 PM at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5968, located at 187 Arora BLVD on Thursday June 16, 2016 (TIME). Reception to follow immediately after memorial service at VFW post 5968. Cremation and Interment with military honors will be held on Friday June 17, 2016 at 1:30 P.M at the Jacksonville National Cemetery located at 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated.
