We remember Walt as a yuung man, when we first met Jesse and Jay when I was selling their home first home and building their new home. He was so cute and intelligent.   God has a good teacher for all upstairs.  Hope all is well with Jesse and Jay

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Jamison and family,

  I was deeply saddened to learn of Walt’s passing.  Though I never got to know him well, he touched my life in ways few ever do. 
  We met five years ago when he was in Florida visiting for the holidays and I felt privileged that he gave me a couple of days of his time.  We went out to dinner, watched a couple of movies, rode my horses and talked.  I’ve never forgotten how he made me feel.  In that short time, I felt as if I’d known him forever and I will cherish his memory.  He was so bright, intelligent, fun, funny, kind and easy going.  No doubt, he was a testament to good parenting and I know his family was important to him.  My life has been greatly enriched by having known your beautiful son.

Walt was such a huge ray of sunshine at my home. I loved Walt and enjoyed having him over. He helped me tremendously with my gardens - with one stipulation - usually a meal was involved, along with a dip in the pool! :)  He fit in well with my boys and their eating habits!! He was just one of the gang, until he met my niece, Clare. It was love at first sight and they became steadfast friends!! We had so much fun with Walt when he accompanied us on her bachelorette weekend in New Orleans. There was always laughter and usually crazy costumes of some sort! He was the perfect gentleman when he served as Clare's Man of Honor, attending to any need that may have popped up! Walt will always remain in our hearts with loving thoughts! He will be greatly missed! The memorial at ESA was so beautiful, touching and perfect; one could tell Walt impacted so many lives in wonderful ways. My sister, Kathy and I were so happy to help Clare and others with the reception. I knew Walt would appreciate - yet again more food! Dear Jess, Jay, Evan, Elena and Family,

From our family to yours, we are so sorry and our prayers of sympathy have been coming your way.  Walt was just a wonderful person inside and out.   He was loved by everyone and I was always so excited to see him.  Although it was not often enough, it was always a real treat!  It was especially so nice of him to fly down to Saint Petersburg and take Madison to her Senior Prom.  They looked so nice together and we loved having him!  I know how very much he will be missed by all.  Please keep those precious memories close to your heart and know he is now with God.

Walter and I met at Mercedes-Benz, and after our first conversation we just clicked. He was one of the most intelligent and bright people I had the pleasure of meeting. We talked about god, science, cars, men and anything under the sun. We shared so many memories from sitting on the couch, dancing at a techno party, to celebrating Halloween and Thanksgiving together. He was the most beautiful soul and I am so incredibly sad to not have him around now. I am so sorry to his family, he loved you all so much and talked about you all continuously. 
I will always cherish the memories of Walter Jamison.

We met Walt only about five months ago. We were, in fact, his first big car sale at his new job.  We connected from the very first moment, speaking French, fashion, family and, of course, cars.  A true renaissance man, he could engage – and amuse - on seemingly every topic. His knowledge of cars was encyclopedic, and he had an extraordinary ability to explain in simple words the complexities about why cars do what they do, how to take care of them and how to enjoy them. He was elegant, courteous, extravagant, extraordinary and, at times, outrageous – and we treasure every moment with him. After our car was delivered, Walt offered – and we accepted – that he come over to cook us some Cajun gumbo.  We had a wonderful evening, to be repeated when we offered him homemade Italian food.  Family celebrations, dinners, brunches, and a jazz performance followed – times now belonging to the realm of bittersweet memories. We loved him dearly – as an adopted son.  The sadness and pain hidden behind the sparkling smile and personality escaped us, leaving us to wonder about the brilliance and achievements of a future we had all hoped to witness. A brilliant light, a brilliant life, gone too soon, but not ever to be forgotten.  Godspeed and good rest, beloved Walt. May God grant you eternal peace. And, may Our Lord comfort your beloved parents, siblings, family and friends.  

I knew Walt from Merceds and only met him a couple of times but he was a person one remembered.  He had the brightest smile and a most infectious laugh and personality.  For some reason he seemed like an old friend.  He has left his family and friends too early but I can honestly understand why God wanted him back so soon.  Walt, family and friends, all in my prayers.

 Jeff and I are sending our love and support.  We both remember Walt and what delightful child he was.  Jeff especially remembers his interest in cars and how well he could discuss them with him.  He was so cute with his curls and so enjoyable to have with all of us.  


Walt told me several weeks ago that he had been revisiting one of his favorite books from childhood, The Phantom Tollbooth, for what must’ve been the dozenth time. It was one of the first books he mentioned to me, and it also happened to be one of my favorites as well.

Children’s stories may be an eclectic spark to ignite a bond between adults, but that’s really what set off most immediately my friendship with Walt over the last half year. Tollbooth was one of many, and we shared several conversations about our mutual love of these types of tales. In the last month, I lent him the Oz Chronicles after recommending L. Frank Baum. The animated stories of Miyazaki were another favorite we shared, and I was amused to learn that the character of Totoro was even etched onto the skin above his collarbone. 	

Walt took to heart the lessons at the end of Tollbooth. He threw himself fully at all he did, and found beauty in all around him, especially other people. He refused to let me question my self-worth in times of doubt, and I found myself more confident standing in the glow of his light. He was deftly sociable and was even able to pull this withdrawn mathematician into all sorts of wonderful conversations with his other friends, whether over a gumbo dinner or Sunday brunch.

Stories from childhood give us analogies to hold onto in a complicated world. I keep returning to the thought that the Princesses Sweet Rhyme and Pure Reason have gone into hiding in their Castle in the Air and I don’t yet know when they will return to the lands below and drive out the demons that have thrived in their absence. The childish analogy would have drawn a hearty laugh from Walt, but he would have loved the reference to one of his favorite books.

The Phantom Tollbooth will be forever bittersweet, laden with memories of Walt, but I’m glad I got the opportunity to know him. My deepest condolences to his family and his friends.

Jesse and Jay, Conrad and I remember Walt growing up at St. Barnabas.  He was such a bright light among the young people.  We were so sorry to hear of his passing.  We are sending prayers and comfort to ya'll as well as to Elena and Evan!

I did not know young Walt, but knew most of the rest of the family since I was 7 years old, grandparents, Kay and Sally from Scouts and Little League, Father, Jay, Little League and Football, Scott, Little League and Scouts and the rest from elementary school, junior and senior high schools. I did not know Walt but, I have known the Ellis family for over 40 years.  And Deb is one of my good friends.  I just wanted to say how very sorry I am for your loss.  I have read the memories written about Walt and what a wonderful light he was for those that were lucky enough to meet and know him.  I will keep you in my prayers. GOD Bless you all.

Walt and my daughter, Claire, became friends during their time at ESA. He always stopped by for a visit at our home, when he was in the neighborhood.  I always loved his visits. It was usually during my cooking time.  I considered him my friend. 
I wish I had the words to describe how very sad I was to hear of his passing.

Sending love to you all from Lafayette. Walt was such a bright light at St. Barnabas when we first moved to town. I loved watching him grow up and come into himself. Through the years, every time I saw him around town, he made sure we had the chance to have a conversation. I was so proud of him for so many reasons. He was a force for good in this world.

     My deepest condolences and sorrow for your loss. I’ll never forget spending days with your sweet, amazing intelligent, and loving Walt-man..what an amazing young man. I can still remember his beautiful curls and inquisitive nature. I was so touched to see him a year or so ago in Lafayette. He still called me Dee-Dee, and he was every bit the precious little guy I once sat for. Many prayers of comfort and love sent to you all. May God wrap His loving arms around you all at this time. Walt-man, Dee-Dee loves you. ❤️❤️

I worked with Walt at Mercedes-Benz and he never failed to brighten my day.  I was supper nervous when I started and Walt told me I looked "bluetiful"  due to my blue blouse and it set me at ease. I bought a dress that I thought he would love and I can't believe he's not here to see it. He made every day at work better and I miss him.  He was wonderful.

Walt helped my son purchase his first vehicle back in October. He was always smiling. Was extremely helpful! Always positive with his words in sharing guidance to our now 20 year old. He took his time with our family making sure that all of our needs were met. When I called the dealership today I was extremely taken by hearing that Walt had passed away! The Sherouse Family would like to send our condolences to his family and friends. May God look over all of you during the difficult days ahead and heal your pain through time.

"Walt" was very refreshing!  He and I worked together at Mercedes Benz of Gainesville. I had the pleasure of seeing him almost daily. This young man was an absolute pleasure to work with. I remember the first day he came into the office; I greeted him,  and I loved him from the moment I saw him.  He was a joy to be around,  such a lovely smile, a winsome personality.  Walt and I would sometime go to lunch; and the places he wanted to go were quite interesting; and I asked why? He said, well I can't afford to go around the world, so I go around the world with my palate!  I also remember Walt would come by my office, and click his heels and smile real big each time. I would smile back at him and I knew it wouldn't be long, he would be back by again smiling really big. Just seeing his smiling face would brightened my day.

I want to thank the Jamison family for sharing Walt with us.  My world will be forever changed because of the light Walt brought into my life, I thank God for the privilege to have known him.  My condolences to The Jamison family,  my prayers are with you all. 

Jessie, Jay, Elena,, and Evan...please know you are so very loved and that many Angels are on the way to surround you with God's love.

Jay and Jessie, I wish I had had a chance to know Walt better. I enjoyed the few conversations I did have with him, and enjoyed hearing him talk of his beginning results in the car business. I enjoyed watching the video of his life, and am so sorry I did not get to know this remarkable man better.  Both aof you and Evan and Elena are in my prayers as you mourn this terrible loss. I am so very sorry for your loss. So very sorry.

You have my deepest condolences on the loss of Walt. I have such fond memories of seeing his big, beautiful smile as he bolted across the ESA campus to chat. After he graduated, it was nice to run into him periodically; on campus or around town. We lost a glimpse of sunshine and happiness when we lost Walt. He will be missed. Don and I remember Walt as a child.  Met him when I was selling or buying of real estate with his mom and dad. I was their family agent   We were always amazed at his intelligence at such a young age and super cute.  God needed him more and he can watch over his family.  So sorry to lose him and Jesse and Jay our prayers are with you.   

I met Walt several months ago when he began working with us at Mercedes. From the first moment I saw him I thought he was the most adorable person and loved what an amazing smile he had. Every time we crossed paths he made me smile whether it was a silly face, clicking his heels or performing some gesture that would normally be found in a Broadway play. He was funny, charismatic, kind and could brighten up any room he walked in. People like Walt are truly Angels and we do not always get to keep them as long as we would like. My deepest sympathy goes out to all of Walt's family and friends as I know he will be missed deeply.

I did not know Walter personally or have a lot of time to talk to him, but he always stood out for being  wonderful to whomever was blessed by his graces. I will always remember him as being the ONE person to help me feel more comfortable at work. He always carried a big gorgeous smile that would make me smile, in return. I never got the chance to express that to him. I cannot forget that he was always dressed dapper from head to toe, which so awesomely matched his wonderful personally. The world needed and will missed the bright light that shined through you. Rest in Heaven Walt.

Walt was for me one of the sweetest most genuine people I’ve ever crossed paths with. I meet Walt while working at a tattoo shop, and instantly knew knew that he would be more than just a client for me. Walt was the type of fellow that would go completely out of his way to tell you hello or acknowledge you in a grocery store even when you hadn’t noticed that he was just ahead of you in the isle, he needed to know that you knew he was there and was a presence.  Walt was barnone one of the most caring and observant people I have ever met. I will recall one encounter with Walt that Occurred to the best of my recollection about a year and a half ago where I was at the Grocery store and hadn’t seen Walt in quite some time, Walt noticed me in the checkout and instead of just waving and saying hello he abandoned his basket rushed over gave me the warmest of hugs then proceeded to compliment me on my aging salt and pepper whiskers which unbeknownst to him I was secretly insecure about. Walt always would go that extra mile to make you feel better about yourself with a smile, or compliment. Rest easy my pal. You were loved, you did love, you were appreciated and you will be missed.

Walt & my son, Winn, Met when they were 6 and remained good friends all that time. Walt was exuberant, thoughtful, bright & kind. You rarely saw him without his mega watt smile.  He will be missed.  Jessie, my deepest condolences to you & your family. Sincerely - Clare

In reflecting on Walt these last few days, what I can really say about him is that Walt was a master at making other people see their beautiful parts. 
He was quick with a compliment, with praise, with humor,  and with a familiar warmth that made you feel comfortable with him always.
Walt was exceptionally smart, though never intimidating. He could talk about anything and everything. It was certainly never boring when he was around.
I sincerely enjoyed knowing him and am so sorry the world lost such a dynamic person too soon.
My condolences to all of his family and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. 

I didn't know Walt personally but I had one interaction with him that really stuck with me. A friend and I met up at Tribe Collective in Lafayette for lunch one day and Walt was working behind the counter. He provided excellent customer service. But what really got me is as my friend and I were leaving he opened the door for us and walked her out with an umbrella because it was rainy and she had a baby with her. How exceptional! I'll never forget that. 

I first met Walt working at Raising Cane's.  Even after he left Canes, we remained friends. He was such a bright, lovely person who made sure everyone felt loved and welcomed. He would always greet me by saying, "Is that Rachel Waaa?!"

His passion showed in everything he was ever a part of.  I will remember him always.
