Cora Catherine McCall Thompson died peacefully at her home Monday Sept. 23, 2013.
Cat was born Feb. 22, 1924, a daughter of the late Jess and Loma McCall. She worked at Hudson Hosiery and Southern Manufacturing. Cat loved gardening and spending time with her family and will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband John Thompson; brothers, Luke, Frank, and Robert McCall; and a grandson, James Thompson.
Cat is survived by her loving family including her daughters, Pat Simpson, Vickey Arroba (Jorge) and Ruth Rodden (Mike); grandchildren, Chuck Hagler, Calvin Talbert, Darlene Larkins (George), Keith Davis (Teresa), Shannon Rodden (Jennifer) and Andy Rodden (Keitha); great grandchildren, Joey and Maria Talbert, Tanner and Logan Davis, Hannah, Skylar and Ava Rodden; sisters, Mary Alyce Tucker, Ethel Thompson and Rachel McCall; and a brother, Lawrence McCall.
The family will gather at the funeral home to receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 26, 2013, at Wilson Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
