Daniel David McFarland

Dan was a graduate of the Ohio State University. Dan had a long and successful career in computer science and cyber security and spent most of it working at IBM. He held multiple patents for his work in computer applications and some of his project highlights included doing work for NASA and the Philadelphia Police Department. After retiring in 2019 he had more time to do what he enjoyed, traveling with his family, going to events, and collecting sports memorabilia.

Dan was truly a self-made man, a loving husband and father of four. Family meant everything to Dan and he believed in enjoying and sharing life's experiences with others. His sense of humor brought smiles to those around him for the duration of his life and beyond. He was a man of commitment and strove to be his best in everything he did.

Surviving are his wife, Audrey McFarland, his four children, Jennifer McFarland, Kelley McFarland, Daniel C. (Ali) McFarland, and Ryan McFarland, as well as his mother Anna McFarland, and brothers Timothy (Chris) McFarland and Thomas (Michelle) McFarland.

Family and friends will be received at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1400 Suther Road, Charlotte, NC 28213 on Friday, August 5th, 2022 from 1:30 to 2:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00pm with a graveside service to follow at Carolina Memorial Park, 12015 University City Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28213.
