Mrs. Morton was born April 21, 1915 in Union County, NC, daughter of the late William Walter Montgomery and Queen Plyler Montgomery. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Indian Trail. She worked for many years as a Sales Clerk at K-Mart. Mrs. Morton was preceded in death by her husband, Rueben Morton.
Survivors include her daughter, Myra Coone of Mint Hill; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, 2013 at McEwen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel with Rev. Irvin Reynolds officiating. A private burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Indian Trail in memory of Dorothy Montgomery Morton.
