John Parks Helms

A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

Born August 1, 1940 in Charlotte, NC, Mr. Helms was a son of the late Robert Tillman Helms and Olive May Logan Helms. He attended CPCC. Mr. Helms achieved status as a Real Estate Broker and was the owner of Integrity Realty. He was a lightweight boxer, Professional Putt Putt Champion, amateur politician, and member of Don Reid’s Breakfast Club for many years. Mr. Helms was a member of the Board of Realtors.

Mr. Helms will be remembered for being a good father and a good husband; basically a good human being. He achieved what he wanted in life; happiness with a wonderful family.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Helms was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Helms and Jean Haney, and two brothers, Dick and Bob Helms.

Surviving are his devoted wife of 57 years, Nancy Carter Helms; his son, Steven Parks Helms and wife, Sherri, of Charlotte, and their daughters, Jennifer Richardson and Lauren Helms; his daughter, Stephanie Helms Pollinger and husband, Paul, of Charlotte, and their son, Colin Pollinger; his daughter, Sherri Helms Schultheiss and husband, Gerald, of Knightdale, and their daughter, Ashlyn Huston; and his brother, Tommy Helms of Los Mesa, CA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Avenue, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
