

Lois Maxine Snyder, of Charlotte, NC, passed away Monday afternoon, December 2, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center-Northeast in Concord, surrounded by her loving and supportive family. She was 75 years old.
Born January 9, 1938 in Charlotte, NC, Mrs. Snyder was a daughter of the late William MacDonald Penninger and Annie Virginia Baker Penninger. She retired in 1997 from Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools after 12 years of service, where she worked in the print shop. She was a member of East Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Snyder was preceded in death in 1996 by her husband of 34 years, James Carlton Snyder, and by her two brothers, Bobby Ray Baker and David Wayne Penninger.
She is survived by her two children, Sherry Snyder Blalock and her husband, Mark, of Locust, and James C. Snyder, Jr. and his partner, Ben Crosby, of Rock Hill, SC; three sisters, Marlene Klutz of York, SC, Levonne Cunningham of Midland, and Sheila Robinson of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Amanda Brock and her husband, Harley, of Locust, and Paul L. Stallings, Jr. and his wife, Jade, of Albemarle; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis Brock, Mackenzie Brock, and Scarlett Stallings.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from 3 until 4 pm Friday, December 6, at McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road in Mint Hill. A funeral service to celebrate her life will follow at 4 pm in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Steve Triplett officiating.
