Mary Joan Collins Stading

Her family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:15 p.m. Monday, October 15, at Hickory Grove United Methodist Church. Her funeral service will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary, with the Rev. Arnie Corriher officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park.

Born January 26, 1928 in Southern Illinois, Mrs. Stading was the daughter of the late John Williams Collins and Lucinda Emily Richards Collins. She retired from Duke Power’s Allen Steam Station after 26 years of service. Mrs. Stading was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed traveling and all types of animals. Most important to her were her family; especially her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stading was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald J. Stading, daughter, Susie Stading, and grandson, Mark Stading.

She is survived by her son, Ronald L. Stading and wife, Sue; grandchildren, Michael Stading and wife, Jennie, Matthew Stading and wife, Taylor, and Mark’s wife, Meredith Stading; and great-grandchildren, Jack, Brooklyn, Julia and Colton Stading.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hickory Grove United Methodist Church, 6401 Hickory Grove Road, Charlotte, NC 28215, or Hospice and Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 1420 East 7th Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
