Megan Page Efird King

She was born on July 15, 1990, in Charlotte, NC, to Sherry Porter and Thad Efird, and was raised in Cabarrus County.

She married Brian King on June 11, 2011, in Concord, NC.

Megan graduated from Central Cabarrus High School in 2008. She graduated from Kings College with a Degree in Medical Assisting in 2009. Megan was employed at University Pediatrics of Charlotte, NC as a Medical Assistant.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Brian; mother, Sherry Porter; her father, Thad Efird; maternal grandparents, Barbara and George Williams; and paternal grandparents, Nancy and Jack Rock. Megan was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Kenneth Ray Porter, Sr. and her maternal great-grandmothers, Bernice Porter and Grace Page.

Her family will receive friends on Monday, August 29, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. at the McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2011, at the McEwen-Mint Hill Chapel. Reverend David Snow of King’s Way Baptist Church in Concord, NC, will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens, Mint Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Megan’s memory may be made to the Levine Children’s Hospital, 1000 Blythe Ave., Charlotte, NC 28203.

Megan always offered her help and support to anyone who needed it. With her beautiful smile and infectious laughter, she brought joy to all that knew her.
