Shirley House Lewis

Shirley was born on October 8, 1934 in Charlotte, NC to the late W.C and Vasti House. She was a graduate of Tech High in Charlotte. Shirley spent most of her career as a legal secretary and retired from Marsh & McLennan Company. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.

Shirley enjoyed singing, spending time at the lake and watching Hallmark movies. She was a collector of angels, flowers and butterflies. Her grandchildren and great grands held a special place in her heart. Shirley was the Carolina Panthers number one fan and considered herself a "Professional Shopper".

She is survived by her sons, David (Debra) Norkett and Tim (Chris) Norkett; grandchildren, Casey (Amber) Norkett, Catherine (Nathan) Norkett Weaver and Kelsey (Nick) Trull; and 10 great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her brother, Lefty House and sister, Martha Lawing.

A graveside service for Shirley will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 2:00pm at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Visitation will follow at 3:00pm at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 7200E WT Harris Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28215.
