Vickie Rice Fula was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, aunt, sibling, and friend. She left this world the morning of August 2, 2022, at Autumn Care in Cornelius, NC at the age of 84. She was born to William Harvey and Willie Mae Simpson Rice in Charlotte, NC on October 10, 1937. She was second oldest of five children, Billene Gregory, Elizabeth “Sugar Mama” Craig, William “Peanut” Rice, and is survived by her sister, Trina Brown (Jim). She is preceded in death by her previous husband Richard Allen Fula. Vickie was a creative, witty, personable woman who saw beauty in the world. She began her career as a cosmetologist where she successfully competed in hair shows while maintaining a prominent clientele. She also worked as a special events coordinator and fundraiser for the Oasis Shrine Temple in Charlotte before becoming a personal executive assistant for local businessman Paul Scoggins. Lastly, she used her people skills as a leasing professional with Equity Residential before retiring. She was passionate about writing and loved sharing her original songs, poems, and thoughts to live by with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter Brandi Robelotto, her son-in-law, Michael Robelotto, her two granddaughters, Stephanie Patton (Brian), Megan Thomson (David) and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Patton. She also leaves behind seven nieces, five nephews, and many great-nieces and nephews who she loved dearly. Her family will be receiving guests at a service of remembrance at one in the afternoon on Sunday, August 7, 2022, at McEwen Funeral Home- Mint Hill Chapel.
