. A native New Yorker, Barbara spent her childhood living with her family in the boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens and The Bronx. She graduated from William Howard Taft High School and studied at Brooklyn College. Eventually, life events inspired a move to Southern California where she first lived with her growing family in Beverly Hills, North Hollywood, Encino, and later moved to Palm Dessert, Indio and Seal Beach. She worked as a successful bookkeeper, office manager, and controller for a wide variety of companies. Her interest in numbers inspired her to become a numerologist, which included teaching classes and lecturing on the subject.
Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, great-great-aunt and cousin. She made many friends at temple and took pleasure in a lifelong study of Judaism.
Barbara is survived by four children: daughter Ellen Roth-Jones (husband Andrew Jones), son Eric Roth, son Mitchell Roth (wife Noriko Roth, their children Alexandra, Aaron, and Anne), and son Marc Claflin (husband Richard Claflin). Barbara's vast family tree includes: nieces Alexis Rabenn (husband Bert Rabenn, their children Jason, (his children Noah and Ellie)), and Jessica Rabenn-Roberts (husband Jeff Roberts, their children Cameron and Isla); niece Elysa Belessakos (husband Elias Belessakos, their children Josie and Dimitri); great-niece Nikki Chemtob (husband Mark Chemtob, their children Noelle and Benjamin); great niece Jennifer Carroll and great nephew Jeff Harrison.
She will be greatly missed.
