I thank God for the life of my dear aunt Darina.  I also thank God for the strength he has given my uncle and cousins.  May the love of God and the peace of God be upon Uncle Kenny, the twins and all of those who feel this great loss.

Dearest Ken, Alyssa and Sara - I hold you in my heart as you mourn your beloved wife/mama. May the following story offer some comfort:  A few years ago I asked Darina what she would do if she won the lottery. She instantly replied - "I already won the lottery" and went on to explain that the life she was living was something she could NEVER have imagined when she was a child in the Czech Republic. Darina explained that she married the love of her life, had two lovely daughters, loving parents and relatives, good friends, a beautiful home, a rewarding profession, and the privilege of living in America. Darina - Your family, your friends, your co-workers, your patients won the lottery by having YOU in our lives...Bless your hearts, sweet Ken, Alyssa and Sara and family. Sending my love. To Ken, Sarah and Allysa, it was an honor taking care of your mom.  She was such a pleasant patient and a knowledgeable nurse, we always had so much to talk about.  May she rest in peace and May you all find peace and comfort knowing that she was a wonderful person.  I will miss het.

To my uncle Kenny, Sarah and Alyssa.  Thank you for allowing us to celebrate the life of aunt Darina.  I remember my interactions with her; although she was small in stature, her words of encouragement were powerful. She'd always encouraged me to do well in school, and she had a great sense of humor. I remember the day of the wedding and the crushing of glass by the bride and groom. The crushing of glass, was a Jewish tradition symbolizing the years you'd spend loving each other.  I remember thinking, 
"they're going to be together forever!"  You and aunt Darina proved, that even with facing the various vicissitudes of life. God's love and strength will keep us in perfect peace.

We were very sad to hear of Darina's passing.  As her uncle, Jozef was very proud of her and has many good memories of her growing up.  We were at her and Ken's wedding and visited many times in LA
and a couple of times in Las Vegas.  Our thoughts are with Ken, Alyssa and Sara at this difficult time. May her memory be a blessing.

This is not a condolence-this is  a celebration pf a life well lived. Darina had a long successful career.  She was a mom,  a wife and a wonderful friend to so many people, myself included.  My husband, Tom and  I were so happy to have her in our lives.

Darina and I shared a love of  Dvorak's  new world symphony.  She has now moved to that  new world and will continue to br our caretaker.

I had the absolute pleasure of working with Darina at Cedars-Sinai.  Not only was she a GREAT nurse, (I met her family), she also was a GREAT wife, a GREAT mother, a GREAT friend and a GREAT person.   Darina was awarded with one of the GREATEST awards at work -- that of the GREAT Globe.  Wow!!!  Whenever there were new parents of twins or even triplets, Darina would be one the first nurses to calm and congratulate the new parents.  She LOVED being a mother to her twins!!  Her husband, Ken, absolutely ADORED Darina and she ADORED him, too.  Their partnership was EPIC!!!  Darina really loved her life.  She was STRONG!!!  She was a gentle fighter.  And ... she will always be one of my favorite people -- EVER!!!
