August 16, 1959 – January 17, 2025
Dariush suffered a massive stroke on August 14th, 2024, two days before his 65th Birthday, and left this world on January 17th, 2025, due to post-surgery complications.
Dariush Hariri was a man of immense creativity, humor, and love—a person whose presence could light up any room. Born on August 16, 1959, in Iran to Aziz and Louise Hariri, Dariush’s extraordinary life was defined by his artistic talents, entrepreneurial spirit, and endless capacity for joy.
At the age of 16, Dariush left Iran and moved to England. A year later, at just 17, he courageously came to America on his own to build a new life in Arizona. His resilience and determination carried him through life, and he never stopped chasing his dreams.
From a young age, Dariush’s creativity was unmistakable. He started designing clothing as a child, a passion that became his life’s work. His talents didn’t stop there—he had a love for sailing, classic cars, playing soccer, and connecting with people. He graduated from the University of Arizona, where his adventurous and entrepreneurial spirit truly blossomed.
To his family, Dariush was the “cool guy” with his motorcycle and long ponytail, but also the warm, funny uncle, brother, and partner who brought so much joy. He was the man who could make friends anywhere, always ready with a joke or a story to share.
He loved food, cooking and entertaining, making every meal an experience, and was the kind of person who always made others feel welcome. Whether it was playing soccer inside his childhood home, striking up a conversation with a stranger, or cracking jokes at a party, Dariush had a way of making life fun and memorable.
Dariush is survived by his life partner, Robin; his three sisters, Sussan, Yassaman, and Mojgan; his two brothers-in-law, Djahangir and Cosmo; and his 4 nephews, Omid, Farid, Afshin and Gabriel; and 1 niece, Sophie. He was a lover of animals especially the many cats that he had in his life. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, creativity, and humor that will live on in all who knew and loved him.
Today, we gather to celebrate the vibrant life of a remarkable man. Dariush will forever be remembered for his laughter, his boundless creativity, and his unique ability to bring people together.
A funeral service for Dariush will be held Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Groman Eden Mortuary and Eden Memorial Park, 11500 Sepulveda Blvd, Mission Hills, CA 91345.
