

Harold Mark of Los Angeles, California, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015, (5 Cheshvan 5776), at 91. Services will be held Thursday, October 22, 2015, at 3 pm, at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park, TaNach Chapel, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles. Harold Mark was born in the Bronx, New York, on September 22, 1924. He moved to California in 1949 and worked for Rockwell, helping to build the Apollo spacecrafts. Eventually he moved to Downey, and opened Mark Refining Company, a precious metals refinery. He was an active member of the Jewish community in Downey, California, for decades, and served as president of Downey B'nai B'rith many times. Harold eventually moved to Culver City for the last few years of his life where he performed in various plays. Harold had a great sense of humor and was known for telling off-color jokes in front of his grandchildren. He was married to Shirley for 53 years before her passing in 2013. He is survived by his children, Mindy Friedman, Adrienne Yukawa, Alan Mark, and Judy (Allen Erenbaum) Mark); and his seven grandchildren, Ilana, Tami, Brittany, Brandon, Joshua, Jeremy, and Emma.
