
Jon Mark Schweit was born on December 2, 1947, and passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, surrounded by family. He lived a life defined by hard work, integrity, humor, and devotion to family. He was born in Los Angeles, California to the late Stuart Schweit and Rose Lee Blumenau.
For 37 years, Jon worked as a truck driver for Ralphs Grocery Company, a career he took great pride in. Known for his reliability and strong work ethic, Jon believed in doing the right thing. He was a great judge of character, had a terrific sense of humor, was a great friend, and was very loyal, sweet and loving. Jon was also very handy.
Outside of work, Jon found great joy on the golf course. He was a member of Sunset Hills Country Club and Woodley Lakes Golf Club, where he spent his free time enjoying the game and being with his friends. He brought laughter and warmth to those around him.
Above all, Jon was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Shari, to whom he was married for 54 ½ years. Together they built a life rooted in love, partnership, and family. He is also survived by his daughters, Heather Schweit and Pamela (Darren) Atkison; along with his cherished grandchildren, Hailey, Parker, and Daylen; and many nieces and nephews.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, Stuart Schweit and Rose Lee Blumenau; his brother, Stuart Lee Schweit; his parents-in-law, Marvin and Laura Weitzman; and his brothers-in-law, Addison and Mitchell Weitzman.
Jon will be remembered for his steady presence, kind heart, sharp wit, and unwavering principles. He leaves behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and quiet strength that will continue to guide and inspire all who knew him. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Eternal Light Chapel, Eden Memorial Park, located at 11500 Sepulveda Blvd., Mission Hills, CA 91345. Rabbi Richard Spiegel will officiate.
