Steven Paul Epstein, a beloved resident of Porter Ranch, California, passed away on December 15, 2025, at the age of 62. He was born on February 15, 1963, in Los Angeles, California, to Peter and Natalie Epstein. Steven was a devoted husband, father, son, a cherished grandson, nephew and uncle, and a loving older brother to Shira. Steven shared an especially close and enduring bond with his grandmother, Margit, whom he adored throughout her life. He also had a very close relationship with his grandparents Ray and Henry. They would often take trips to Idyllwild where they would have the best time.
Steven’s youth was marked by energy, friendship, and enthusiasm. He attended Grant High School, where his lifelong passion for sports took root—particularly his unwavering love for the Dodgers, the Rams, and the Lakers. Steven worked for many years as a camp counselor at Studio City’s “The Chiefs” Camp, where he formed lasting friendships with Pat and Neil that remained dear to him throughout his life.
In his youth, Steven developed a deep appreciation for classical music, inspired by his father, grandmother and his uncle Frank, a musician with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He spent many memorable summers at Tanglewood in the Berkshires, enjoying concerts and spending cherished time with his Aunt Mary and cousins Rebecca and Naomi.
In 1990, Steven met Annette while they were both working at Kirk Paper. Their relationship quickly blossomed, and they married in 1992. Together, they created many treasured memories, including trips to Las Vegas and Solvang, as well as a remarkable 17-day journey to Hawaii. Their greatest joy came with the birth of their daughter, Kirsten, in 1993. Steven was a devoted father who took great pride in Kirsten and remained a steady and supportive presence in her life.
Family meant everything to Steven. In his later years, he dedicated himself passionately to researching and preserving the family tree, a labor of love that reflected his devotion to those who came before and after him.
Graveside services will be held on December 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Groman Eden Mortuary, located at 11500 Sepulveda Blvd., Mission Hills, CA 91345.
