

She was born on August 6, 1942, in Dante, Virginia to the late John and Estelle Chabo.
Faye was a Virginia native who graduated from Castlewood High School in Castlewood, Virginia in 1960. She had many hobbies and enjoyments in her life including quilting and traveling. She was a lifelong member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church in Monroe, North Carolina and enjoyed spending time with her church family. More importantly, Faye loved and was deeply committed to her family and treasured the precious memories that were made with them. She was a Godly, loving and gentle woman who had a tremendous, sweet spirit about her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Along with her parents, Faye is preceded in death by her sister, Margie Foster; and brothers, Robert Chabo and Johnny Chabo. She is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Vicars; children, Donna Vicars Shumate (Marty) and Tim Vicars (Melanie); grandchildren, Colby Shumate of Charlotte, North Carolina, Jackson Vicars (Katie) of Midland, North Carolina, and Jessica Vicars of Indian Trail, North Carolina; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Bethlehem Presbyterian Church, located at 7608 Concord Hwy, Monroe, North Carolina. A funeral service to celebrate Faye’s life will be held following the visitation at 12:00 pm with Pastor Josh Herrin officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service at the church cemetery.
