Audrey Riggins Clontz

Mrs. Audrey Riggins Clontz, age 93 passed away Saturday March 16, 2013 in the McWhorter Hospice House of Union County in Monroe, NC.

She was born August 5, 1919 in Union County, NC, a daughter of the late Mr. John Pearl Riggins and the late Mrs. Ruby Gayle Riggins. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband: Billy Russell Clontz; two brothers: Rev. Reece Riggins and Jack Riggins; one infant sister: Dennis Fern Riggins. Mrs. Clontz was a life-long member of Philadelphia Baptist Church.

Mrs. Clontz is survived by three daughters: Glenda Clontz Helms and husband Jimmy of Marshville, NC, Kay Clontz Haney and husband Jerry of Marshville, NC, Sue Clontz Johnsen and husband John of Matthews, NC; four sisters: Ercel Riggins Timmons of Pageland, SC, Lura Riggins Baker Matthews, NC, Johnsie Riggins Raborn of Charlotte, NC, Joyce Riggins Thomas of Marshville, NC; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Clontz will be 2:00 PM Monday March 18, 2013 in the Philadelphia Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Caroll Anthony, with burial to follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
