

She was born March 18, 1935 in Monroe, NC. She is the daughter of the late Carl and Amanda Robinson. She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Frankie Sullivan, her brother Olin Belk Robinson and her seven half siblings.
Bobbie Jean’s life was a living example of Matthew 28:19. As believers, we are called to spread God’s word throughout the world and her life was a living testament to this calling.
She worked in the mission field at home for over 65 years by teaching Sunday School, leading Vacation Bible School, singing in the choir, being a leader in WMU, Acteens, GA’s, Mission Friends, leading many committees in her church and started a monthly Senior Citizen luncheon. She supported foreign missions. She enjoyed fishing, spending time at the beach with her husband and spending time with the children and grandchildren who adored her.
Bobbie Jean is survived by the love of her life of 68 years - husband, Charles Sullivan, her children, Vicky McInnis (Rick), Sandy Hargett, Charlene Copeland (Randy), Mike Sullivan (Martha), her grandchildren, Chanda, Daniel, Erica, Junior, Ryan, Rebecca, Chuck, Mandy, Michael, & Michelle; 21 great-grandchildren, her extended family and her church family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the “WMU” - New Salem Baptist Church, 2915 Goldmine Rd. Monroe, NC 28110. In regards to the COVID pandemic, the family is requesting that masks be worn during the visitation for the safety of everyone.
The family will receive friends from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Sullivan will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at New Salem Baptist Church with interment following in New Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
