She was born on January 22, 1931, to the late Herman and Emma Barnette. Doris had many loves and enjoyments in her life with one of her favorites being working puzzles such as word search, crosswords, and sudoku. She credited them to keeping her mind sharp well into her nineties. One of her greatest loves was her high school sweetheart, Wade Winchester, whom she married and celebrated 48 years of marriage together before his passing. Doris was also a faithful and lifelong member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
Along with her parents and husband, Doris is preceded in death by her brother, Herron Barnette; and her beloved dog, Gracie.
