Edith Inez Byrum, age 95, of Waxhaw, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 25, 2016. She was born in Lancaster County, South Carolina on July 18, 1921, the daughter of Caldwell and Rosa Jackson. She was preceded in death by her husband of over forty years, Archie Byrum; brothers, Oren, Harold and Bill Jackson. She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Griffin of Monroe (Olin) and her sons, Doug Byrum (Linda) and Terry Byrum of Waxhaw; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, five great, great grandchildren; her sister, Doris J. Laney (Bill). The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday, October 28, 2016 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina 28112. A service to celebrate Mrs. Byrum's life will be held 2:00pm Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Union United Methodist Church, 6315 New Town Road, Waxhaw, North Carolina 28173.
