Eleanor Elizabeth (Stillwagon) Abbott, 76, of Monroe North Carolina, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the Stratford nursing home, comforted by the nursing supervisor, Krista and the sound of her daughters’ voices over the phone.
She was born on December 3, 1949, in Johnson City, New York, the daughter of Dorothy Ciannelli.
Lover of all things artsy, crafty and antique, she was an avid quilter, artist and loved to crochet, especially baby blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She drew beautiful pictures and had a talent for calligraphy. She loved a “deal” and would light up when she told you about a new antique she purchased. She would give a stranger the food from her mouth, a blanket from her bed and gift cards from her family to help someone she felt needed it more. Beth could also be found helping at her church, Central United Methodist, with suppers and other events for the less fortunate.
She was the best mother a child could ask for. She was very involved with PTA, dance recitals and band by helping with fund raisers, costume creation, chaperoning and more. Even friends of her children have fond memories of her. She was a talker and always had a good story to tell. Stranger was not in her vocabulary; everyone was a friend.
Beth is survived by her ex-husband Roger Abbott; her children, Karma Wyman with spouse Gene and Shelly Abbott; her 4 grandchildren, Elizabeth (Wyman) Mullen, Jeremy Wyman, Danielle Wyman and Ally (Ally Cat) Abbott; 4 great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Jemma, Jethro and Jasper Wyman; and her siblings, Nick Cianelli and David Cianelli.
Beth will be remembered as someone with one of the largest hearts known to all who loved her, including God.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in her name to Atrium Health Hospice of Union County at 700 West Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28112.
