

Ella Dolores Girts was born on June 13, 1930, in Deanville, PA. She was the daughter of the late Floyd and Marvelle Drayer. Ella was a homemaker and also worked at the Great American Kazoo Factory in Eden, NY. Ella loved her son and family so much, and her grandchildren were the light of her life! She also loved her Pittsburgh Steelers! and was known by all for her famous chocolate chip cookies!
She was married to the late Charles Denver Girts who passed away at the age of 69 on February 7, 2007 for 43 years. She was also preceded in death by her sisters; Josephine Dolby, Ruth Ann Rowley and Betty Jane Truitt.
Surviving family members include her beloved son, Darren Dewayne Girts and wife Michelle Marie Girts of Wesley Chapel, NC; Her two dear grandchildren, Ryan Michael Girts and Kailey Linne Girts, both of Wesley Chapel, NC; Her brother Bernard Glenn Drayer (Dorothy); sisters, Donna Lou Drayer Mogle, Lois June Drayer, and Vickie Lynn Jones (Ron); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Secrest Grove Baptist Church located at 4505 Weddington Road in Monroe, North Carolina from 2 PM to 2:45 PM with the funeral service directly following at 3 PM at the church. A committal service will immediately follow at the church cemetery across the street from the church. The service will be officiated by Preacher Jeff Whitecotton and Pastor Mike Morris II.
