

Jody was born February 21, 1949 to the Late Walter William York, Sr. and Frances S. and Kenneth D. Mode Sr.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry York of Charlotte.
Jody is survived by his brothers Walter William (Billy) York, Jr. of Monroe NC, Kenneth D. Mode, Jr. (Crystal) of Stallings NC, sisters Kathy M. Church (Michael) and Karla M. Segee, both of Monroe NC.
Nieces Shannon Norwood (Patrick) of Monroe NC, Katherine and Mackenzie Mode of Monroe NC, nephews Adam York (Kathy) of Nicholsville KY, Kyle Church (Jessica), Micah Church (Shelby), Dylan Segee and Sam Segee, all of Monroe NC.
One Aunt, Carolyn Smith of Charlotte NC, numerous cousins and great nieces and great nephews.
Jody served in the US Military from July 19, 1968 thru July 18, 1974 as a SGT in the US Army, where he served 2 tours during the Vietnam War. Jody earned several medals which included Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Marksman.
Jody was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed going shopping especially to the Harley Davidson shop in Matthews, Krispy Kreme and his special trips to South 21.
A memorial service for Mr. York will be held at 11:00am Friday, April 15, 2022 with military honors at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, 204 South Main Street, Monroe, NC 28112.
