Mrs. Eunice “Sis” Medlin, 93, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Carolinas Hospice in Monroe. Mrs. Medlin was born July 19, 1921 in Union County, daughter of the late Dowd and Hester Byrum Helms, she was also preceded in death by her husband William Martin Medlin, a son Jerry Medlin, her son-in-law: James Coley, siblings: Ruth, Harold, Luther, Grady and Worth Helms. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Medlin will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 4, 2014 in the McEwen Colonial Chapel, with Reverend Jack Hildreth and Reverend Gary Morris officiating, interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Survivors include two daughters: Betty M. Coley of Mount Pleasant N.C., Linda “Penny” Clevenger and husband Mike of Monroe, three grandchildren: Angie Kemp, Myra Kirkley, John Clevenger, seven great grandchildren.
