Frances Flores

Born December 25, 1940, Frances was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and treasured friend who will be greatly missed by so many. She loved to go on cruises and in her spare time do word find puzzles. Above all else, she loved her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. The huge family gatherings, whether for holidays or “just because”, were so treasured by her. As a result, her wit and unconditional love will be left in the hearts of her family to cherish. That unconditional love, however, was also extended to many others throughout her life. Her heart and door was always open to everyone and she always made sure everyone felt at home around her. Because she made everyone feel as if they were a part of her family, she was always known as “Everybody’s Maw-Maw”.

Frances is predeceased by her parents, Ney and Julia Squires; son, Randall “Gomer” Love; brother, Bud Squires; and sister, Phyllis Hargett. She is survived by her loving husband, Francisco Flores; sons, John Love, Scott Love (Sandra), and Horacio Vazquez; daughters, Teresa Love, Wanda Juarez, Angela McCarver, Tammy Murphy (Deon), Fabiola Vazquez, Juana Vazquez, and Hortencia Vazquez; 27 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; brother, Tommy Squires; and sisters, Judy Price and Sue Morris (Don).

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street, Monroe, North Carolina. A funeral service to celebrate her life will then be held at 1:00 pm at the McEwen Colonial Chapel with committal immediately following at Lakeland Memorial Park. Donations and memorials can be made to Pruitt Hospice. The family would also like to extend a very special “thank you” to Judy and Cheryl for the wonderful and compassionate care they gave to Frances during her final days.
