Frances Evelyn Helms

Evelyn was born April 14, 1923 in Union County to the late James Eldridge Benton and Glennie Musetta Greene Benton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Brice Aaron Helms, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

She is survived by her children, Margaret Price and the late Charles Price of Monroe, James "Sonny" Helms and wife Marcia of Fincastel, VA, Linda Hunter and husband Kenny of Monroe, John Helms of Monroe, Mary Tarlton and husband Steve of Monroe, Dale Helms and the late John Helms of Monroe, and Dennis Helms of Monroe. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 11:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. The funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at 12:00 p.m. at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe and burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.

The family will be gathering at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Hunter.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice House of Union County.
