

Carol was born on July 30th, 1944, to the late Appleton Paul and Eva Plyler.
Carol grew up in Union County and went to work at 18 years old for the Dickerson Group and State Utility Contractors and later retired from there after 49 years. She was also a lifelong member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. Carol will be most remembered for her devout Christian values, and unwavering love for her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Along with her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Larry Kenneth Wilson. She is survived by her two daughters, Lisa Wilson Williamson and Laura Wilson Creech (Travis); her five grandchildren, Trent Horne (Ashlyn), Olivia Williamson, Nathan Williamson, Ashley Creech, Eva Creech; and two great-grandsons, Ryder Horne and Roper Horne. She is also survived by four sisters, Dean Hurst, Flo Laney, Vera Jenkins, and Judy Helms.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 2:15 pm at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church, located at 1106 West Sandy Ridge Road, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm in the church sanctuary.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Sandy Ridge Baptist Church.
