He had a love for his family and music. He was an active member of Wolf Pond Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Blackburn’s Body Shop for over 60 years as well as owner and operator of Blackburn’s Car Wash. If you knew him, you knew his favorite words were, “Things looking up”.
George Dewey was proceeded in death by his parents, Roth and Dorothy Rowell Blackburn; his loving wife of 61 years, Patsy M, Blackburn; sons, James Timothy Blackburn and Gregory Alan Blackburn; siblings, Myrtis McCray and Macy Crook. He is survived by his daughters-in-law, Angie Blackburn and Darlene Blackburn; grandchildren, Wesley Blackburn, Charlie Blackburn, Magan Lewis (Corey), and Nick Blackburn; great grandchildren, Makenzie Lewis, CJ Lewis, Raylen Blackburn, Hayden Blackburn, Eleanor Blackburn, Lena Blackburn, and Harper Courtney; siblings, Eva Appel and Carolyn Platts.
There will be a visitation on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Wolf Pond Baptist Church from
3:00pm until 4:00pm with funeral service at the church at 4:00pm. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Wolf Pond Baptist Church Choir fund. McEwen Funeral Home is honored to serve the Blackburn family.
