

James Edwin “Pete” Hendricks, 82, of Monroe, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. Pete was born in Abilene, Texas on October 6, 1938 to the late Lawton and Alla Mae Hendricks. Pete proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as an Airman 1st Class. After his time with the Air Force, he was a Federal Employee as a Maintenance Supervisor at Ft. McArthur Air Force Base in California then later he served as a Field Office Manager with GSA (General Services Administartion). Pete was an avid golfer, loved to travel and enjoyed good food. He had a great sense of humor and will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, Pete is predeceased by a brother, Lawton Hendricks and a sister, Patricia Jones. He is survived by his loving wife, Ever Delantar Hendricks; children, Kevin Hendricks, Karen Trounson (Cliff), Sherri Hendricks and Brian Hendricks (Stacey); grandchildren, Kevin Hendricks Jr., Lindsey Trounson, Liam Shields, Matthew Shields, Lily Shields, Emilia Rose and Elijah James and two sisters, Marlene Mihell and Francis Hassapakis.
The family requests that no flowers be sent but instead, memorial donations be given to Novant Health Hospice & Palliative Care 324 N McDowell St. Suite 200
