James H. “Butch” McGuigan Jr. 69, died Saturday, July 5, 2014 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Mr. McGuigan was born August 7, 1944 in Washington D.C., son of the late James H. McGuigan Sr. and the late Rita Orange McGuigan; he was a Vietnam Veteran, a lifelong member of the VFW Post 2423 in Indian Trail N.C. and retired from NASA refrigeration control. Visitation will be Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, Services to celebrate the life of “Butch” will be 11:00 A.M. Friday in the McEwen Colonial Chapel, interment will follow later at the National Cemetery in Salisbury, N.C. Survivors include his wife: Rita J. McGuigan, sons: James McGuigan III and wife Stefanie, Jay and wife Belen Hyland, daughter: Kellie Spivak and Kevin, 12 grandchildren, sisters: Monica Jordan, Kathleen Wright and Lihu, Regina Wagner and John, brother: Michael McGuigan.
