Jean Catoe Freeman, 81, of Mint Hill, North Carolina passed away peacefully at home on August 1, 2022. She was born in Heath Springs, South Carolina on August 30, 1940. Jean had a long career in customer service with Medical Supplies. She loved her friends and family dearly and will be missed by all that knew her.
Jean is preceded in death by father, Corley Louis Catoe, mother, Katie Lenora Barrett, first husband, Marvin Ray Burgess, second husband John Freeman, siblings Catherine Tillman (Pat Tillman), Frank Catoe, Marlene Starnes (Ron Starnes) and niece, Patty Simpson.
She is survived by her children, Roger Burgess (Holli Burgess), April Burgess (Kevin Coulter), Jerry Thomas and Michelle Thomas; grandchildren, Jessica LaPrade (Ray LaPrade), Shelby Burgess (Mitchell Starnes), Zane Burgess, Zoe Hibbett, James Weathers and Rick Weathers (Holly Weathers); great-grandchildren Aiden Weathers, Mackenzie Weathers, Logan Weathers, and Chloe Weathers; nephews Al Tillman (Lisa Tillman), Eric Starnes (April Starnes), Mitchell Catoe, Bobby Catoe (Lorrie Catoe) and Scott Simpson, nieces Renee Tillman, Kelly Sexton (Jamie Sexton), and Veronica Covington (Jim Covington) and her lifelong friend Linda Blalock.
The family will receive friends on Saturday August 6, 2022 at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe from 11:00 am until 12:00 noon followed by a service to celebrate Jean's life at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Lancaster Memorial Park in Lancaster, South Carolina.
