Jerry Welch Alexander (77), of Indian Trail, passed away on April 25, 2016 at CMC Main surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 27, 1938 in Union County, NC, son of the late Chatham Bundy Alexander and Kathleen Craig Alexander. He was also preceded in death by his wife Mary Lilly Alexander of 50 years.
He is survived by his wife Mary Stuber Alexander, two daughters Pamela Alexander Benton (Doug), Sonya Alexander Moore (Roger) and step-daughter Sherry Haskell (Daren). His work career was with the telephone company where he retired as a supervisor. He enjoyed fishing and farming but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Jerry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Most of all he was a Christian that was not ashamed to let others know. He was his family's best friend and always looked for the best in them. Even more so, he was a role model that showed how life should be lived. Jerry was a solid rock that his family could always lean on and depend on when seeking shelter from life storms. He will be missed but we do not say goodbye we say until we meet again. He will always be in our hearts, souls and minds. We made this promise to him that we will live for him until God calls all of us home to be reunited for eternity.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 29 from 5:00 until 7:00pm at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1417 Unionville-Indian Trail Road, Indian Trail, NC, followed by the funeral service at 7:00pm.
