Jimmy Eugene Thompson Sr.

He was a die-hard Dale Earnhardt fan and collected lots of his racing memorabilia. More importantly, Jimmy had a great love for his family and enjoyed spending time with them.

He is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Arlene Thompson; 9 brothers and 3 sisters. He is survived by his sons, Jimmy Thompson, Jr. and Welby Humphries; grandchildren, Audrey Thompson (fiancé Bradley), Brian Thompson, Jeremiah Thompson, Cheyenne Humphries, and Keisha Brown; 2 great-granddaughters; 1 great-grandson; 5 sisters, Julia Wyndham, Mary Clark, Margie Owens, Catherine Hughes, and Rosie Wiestling; 2 brothers, Walter Thompson and Junior Thompson; as well as extended family, Marisa Thompson, Karen and David, and many more.

A visitation will be held at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe, located at 204 South Main Street in Monroe, North Carolina, on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 11:00 am until 12:45 pm. A service to celebrate Jimmy’s life will be held at 1:00 pm in the McEwen Funeral Home Colonial Chapel with burial following immediately after at Price Cemetery.
